International Day of Yoga 2026: Ancient Wisdom for Modern Life

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA

Introduction

Today’s generation is focused on setting up financial goals and achieving them. For this, they are working day and night, setting up their startups along with working 9-5. But one thing is getting backseat among all this for most of them, if not all, and that is physical activity. Lifestyle associated diseases are on the rise including PMOS, uncontrolled diabetes, etc. This is why the day dedicated to YOGA is so much important especially in today’s time. So, let’s talk about what major things are happening related to this day and take some motivation to inculcate yoga in our routine lives.

Wonderful technique to do Yoga

Yoga with meditation do wonders in terms of health benefits, living stress-free life, overcoming addictions, etc. Saint Dr MSG has demonstrated the technique step by step as:

  1. First of all, sit straight and fix your focus at the space between the eyebrows
  2. Inhale full via nose and keep chanting ‘the method of meditation’
  3. Then hold your breath, then exhale till all air is out of your lungs
  4. Hold without breathing in for brief time and then repeat the process.

Saint MSG encourages people from all age groups to do Yoga

From school going children to bedridden elderly, with the encouragement of Saint Dr MSG and patient teaching by His Holiness, every age group has been able to not only learn and practice yoga but many of them have represented India at international level and won hundreds of medals.

Awards won by Dera Sacha Sauda

  • Award of Honour on 29th April, 2016: Major yoga regulatory boards including  International Yoga Federation, the Yoga Federation of India, the Asia Yoga Federation, and the International Yoga Sports Federation presented Award of Honour to Saint Dr Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan for his contributions to promote Yoga among millions of people.
  • Nomination for Dronacharya Award on 28th may, 2017: The Yoga Federation of India nominated Saint MSG for coaching and producing world-class yogis and international medalists (such as World Cup and Asian Cup winners) from the Dera’s Shah Satnam Ji Educational Institutions.
  • World champion for 8 times: One time world champion is celebrated with so much fervour as it’s such a big achievement. Then think about students who became 8 times champion! Yes we are talking about students of Shah Satnam Ji Educational Institutes.

Not only this, these students have brought the title of Asia Yoga Championship 5 times

Overall, more than 107 medals at international level have been won by the students of these institutes with the guidance of Saint MSG

Every year, millions of devotees participate globally on the occasion of International Day of Yoga to spread the message of staying fit and healthy at every age of life.

60 minutes a day keeps illness away

Saint MSG has encouraged millions of people across the globe to inculcate yoga in their daily routine for one hour. It has helped a lot of people to beat illness and stay away from addictions

From bedridden to 550 medals: Yoga miracle

There is one real story which can inspire anyone! The story of Ilam Chand Insan.

He started yoga with the inspiration of Saint MSG in 2000 when he met His Holiness in spiritual congregation. At that time, his health was deteriorating and was bedridden and was brought on cot by relatives. With the new found motivation, he started yoga and now at age of 94 years old, he has won more than 550 medals at national and international levels. He is fit and healthy and gives entire credit to His Holiness Saint Dr Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan.

If students from one group of institutes can bring so many international level medals and if someone at the age of 94 years can single handedly bring 550 medals, what’s stopping us to do yoga to stay healthy? There is no doubt about the fact that if health is not good, nothing else will make sense.

Modern life diseases has ancient cure

Let’s pledge to start yoga on this international day of yoga 2026 and make a healthy home, a healthy city, a healthy state and a healthy Nation! One by one, we all can achieve this.

The wisdom behind a meaningful life: about Saint Dr MSG

A meaningful life is not defined by success alone, but by the values, purpose, and direction that guide it. While many people help us along our journey, there are a few whose wisdom continues to influence our decisions long after the moment has passed.

This Father’s Day, we celebrate the role of guidance in shaping lives and building a better society. For millions, Saint Dr. MSG has served as a source of inspiration, encouraging compassion, self-reliance, responsibility, and service to humanity. Through teachings that extend beyond words and initiatives that transform lives, His fatherly guidance continues to empower individuals, strengthen families, and inspire positive change.

After all, true wisdom is not merely taught—it is reflected in the lives it helps shape.

A Direction Reflected in Deeds: initiatives by Saint Dr MSG:

The impact of true guidance of a father can be seen not only in words but also in actions. When values are translated into service, compassion, and responsibility, they create a ripple effect that touches countless lives and strengthens society as a whole.

Saint Dr MSG, the Father to millions, has started innumerable and beautifully unique campaigns touching many lives:

  1. Royal daughters/ Shahi Betiyan: Revered Saint Dr MSG has made it a movement to adopt all the children rescued from foeticide or gender based discrimination of girls.
    1. The ‘Home of the Royal Daughters’ was established within the Dera headquarters in Sirsa, Haryana on January 23, 2007.
    2. ‘Asra Ashram’ is a parallel campaign for fostering boys.
    3. Guruji has fostered more than 20 children under Royal Daughters, found either abandoned in dumpsters or left on road sides, provided shelter and a home, focused on their education and living and organised their marriages, giving them the gift of a new life.
  2. The brave devout warrior: A unique approach to equality as well ashumanity wherein Saint Dr MSG, under fatherly care, encourages brave independent women (devout warriors) to get married and provide support to physically disabled sons.
  3. Shubh devi (Bane removed by boon): On November 9, 2009, Revered Guru Saint Dr MSG started a mass movement against prostitution, adopting the rescued victims, arranging treatment for them and providing rehabilitation for mainstreaming them with the society by arranging marriage and a good life ahead.
  4. More than 1,500 young male followers (referred to within the organization as Bhakt Yodhas or “Warrior Devotees“) publicly raised their hands and formally pledged that they were willing to marry ‘Shubh devi’women.
  5. Alongside the men, over 278 families stepped forward to declare that they would legally accept these rescued women into their households as daughters or sisters to strip away social stigma.
  6. More than 15 marriages were organised in just the following 5 years (2010-2015).
  7. Guruji has showered eternal blessings, Rs 25000 to each couple, suits, shoes, warm clothes and much more as a symbol of love for the new chapter of their lives.
  8. In cases where the rehabilitated women already had young children from their past, 57 volunteer families signed commitments to legally adopt and raise those children.
  9. Beyond Imagination: Saint Dr MSG and Dera Sacha Sauda reaches out to rape victims and families, offering the compassion and protection of a father while helping them begin a new chapter in life.
  10. Revered Saint Dr MSG acts as a symbolic foster father to the survivors to remove their perceived “social blemish.”
  11. Sukh dua samaj: When the society looks down upon the Eunuchs (Hijra/ Kinnars), Saint Dr MSG steps up, adopts them and takes an initiative to reunite them with the societal mainstream.
  12. The sect’s legal wing filed Writ Petition (Civil) No. 604 of 2013, arguing that the lack of official identity documents for transgender individuals violated their fundamental constitutional rights.
  13. The Supreme Court consolidated this case with the landmark NALSA v. Union of India petition to address the issue on a national scale.
  14. On April 15, 2014, the court ruled in favor of the petitions, officiallylegalizing the “Third Gender” classification and granting the community legal rights to self-identification, educational quotas, and welfare benefits.
  1. Blessings/ Legal adoption: Saint Dr MSG believes that while some children are born into a family, others are simply waiting to be welcomed into one. Through adoption, he encourages hearts to connect where destiny has left a space to be filled.
  2. Kul ka crown: Revered Guru Saint Dr MSG has started a unique initiative for providing support to single daughters and their family by encouraging the groom (if he has another male sibling) to relocate to the bride’s parental place with everyone’s consent.
  3. More than 40 marriages have been successfully executed under the campaign of kul ka crown.
  4. All marriages under this campaign are strictly dowry-free and conducted at the Dera headquarters to eliminate the financial burden of traditional weddings on the bride’s parents.

A responsible father: empowering children and making them independent

Just as a father silently dedicates his days and nights to shaping his children’s future, a true Guru becomes a guiding light through life’s journey—nurturing values in childhood, inspiring growth in youth, and helping individuals establish a purposeful and fulfilling life.

This father’s day, it is important to acknowledge the contributions that Saint Dr MSG made for the lives of His children.

  • Educational institutes: Revered Saint Dr MSG has set up impeccable institutes for primary and secondary education covering every aspect of child development in schools. There are cbse affiliated as well as Cambridge University affiliated schools to provide the best education possible and children have come forward seeing various records and examples in the field.
    • The schools maintain a consistent record of 100% pass rates in Class 10 and 12 board examinations, with multiple students regularly scoring above 95% to achieve regional and national merit board rankings
    • Shah Satnam Ji Girls’ School has been ranked among the Top 20 Girls Boarding Schools in India and has held the #1 spot for residential girls’ schools in Haryana by EducationWorld India School Rankings.
  • Co-curricular guidance: Despite education, Saint Dr MSG has always made sure that a child is given a chance in each aspect of development and progresses in the field that the child desires.

This also includes self defence classes for children that Saint Dr MSG, being Papa Coach, pays a keen attention to in this fast running world.

Saint Dr MSG conceptualized and established a massive, specialized sports village (Khel Gaon) inside the Dera headquarters in Sirsa. Athletes who train there formally attribute their performance techniques, mental focus, and psychological strategies directly to his guidance.

  • Career guide: Like a caring father, revered Guruji encourages the children to recognize their potential, choose the right direction, and build a future rooted in both success and values.
  • Self reliance/ vocational training: A caring father does not walk every step for his children, he teaches them how to walk on their own. By promoting skill development among both daughters and sons, Saint Dr MSG nurtures the spirit of self reliance and empowerment.

Some well recognised contributions of Saint Dr MSG’s aka Papa Coach’s children under the sector of sports:

  • Elite athletes Yashdeep, Milanpreet, Parveen and Harpreet earned the state’s highest Bheem Award for their international speed and precision in roller skating.
  • Gurmail has earned Bheem Award for national-level excellence in handball.
  • Shah Satnam Ji Cricket Academy have successfully nurtured top-tier talent, including youth prodigy Kanishk Chouhan who earned a prestigious selection to the BCCI Under-19 Indian Team for international tours.
  • Shah Satnam Ji Girls’ School collectively won 22 medals at global platforms like the World Cup Yoga Championship in Paris, France, and the Asian Yoga Championship in Malaysia.

A Father’s guidance, A better society

On this father’s day, it’s important to acknowledge that a father’s guidance is reflected not only in the lives of his children but also in the society they help create.

The true measure of such guidance lies in the hearts it touches—when thousands come forward to help strangers as family, when daughters are cherished, when the forgotten find support, and when service becomes a way of life.

Rooted in the values of fatherhood, humanity, and welfare, these acts create bonds stronger than blood.

This Father’s Day, we honor the guidance that turns compassion into action and inspires people to leave the world a little better than they found it.

Conclusion

A father’s legacy is not measured in years, possessions, or words—it is measured in the lives he helps shape. As we celebrate Father’s Day, we express gratitude to every father who nurtures, protects, and guides with unconditional love.

We also reflect on the profound impact of spiritual guidance that transforms values into action and compassion into service, as profoundly exemplified by Saint Dr MSG.

After all,

The greatest gift a father can leave behind is not wealth, but a direction that continues to illuminate countless lives long after the journey begins.

Why Blood Donors’ Day: An introduction

World Blood Donor Day was established to raise awareness about the constant need for safe blood and to encourage voluntary blood donation. Millions of patients rely on blood transfusions every year, yet blood shortages continue to affect healthcare systems across the world.

The day also serves as an opportunity to thank blood donors whose generosity helps save lives and strengthens communities. By promoting regular blood donation, World Blood Donor Day aims to ensure that lifesaving blood is available whenever and wherever it is needed.

The observance was officially adopted by the World Health Organization (WHO) and its partners in 2004. It is celebrated on 14 June, the birth anniversary of Karl Landsteiner, whose discovery of the ABO blood group system made safe blood transfusions possible.

The Era of True Blood pump: Record setting blood donations by Dera Sacha Sauda

True blood pump

True blood pump refers to the blood donors of the Dera Sacha Sauda community who are always up for donating blood whenever and wherever needed.

The idea behind the name is that just as a heart continuously pump blood to sustain life, these volunteers continuously help make blood available to patients in need.

Records set by the true blood pump

Record setting events of Dera Sacha Sauda volunteers in the field of blood donation:

  • 15,432 units donated in a single camp on 7 December 2003 at Sirsa.
  • 17,921 units donated on 10 October 2004 at Sri Ganganagar.
  • 43,732 units were donated on 8 August 2010 at Sirsa, a Guinness-recognized achievement.

Dera Sacha Sauda honoured by Red cross society

On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day 2025, Dera Sacha Sauda’s blood donation initiative, True Blood Pump, received recognition from the Indian Red Cross Society for its continued contribution to voluntary blood donation. The honour reflected the organization’s long-standing commitment to saving lives through regular blood donation camps and humanitarian service.

Blood Donation: Panacea to the ill and. inspiration to others

Blood donation is more than a medical necessity—it is a powerful act of humanity. For patients in need, a single unit of blood can offer hope, healing, and a second chance at life. At the same time, every donor becomes a source of inspiration, encouraging others to step forward and contribute to this lifesaving cause. In this way, blood donation not only saves lives but also nurtures a culture of compassion, selflessness, and social responsibility.

Dera Sacha Sauda promotes blood donation as a way of celebrating happiness as well. On various occasions like birthdays and anniversaries, Dera Sacha Sauda volunteers come forward to do welfare works including blood donation to help someone suffering.

When it’s dark everywhere, teachings of Saint Dr MSG bring a light of hope.

Every day, countless lives are put at risk due to the unavailability of timely blood transfusions. A single unit of donated blood can mean the difference between life and death for accident victims, mothers facing childbirth complications, patients undergoing critical treatment and people fighting diseases like dengue and thalassemia.

As guided by Saint Dr MSG:

  • Dera Sacha Sauda has donated more than 1 million units of blood cumulatively
  • More than 200,000 volunteers have pledged to donate regularly

An inspirational documentary about true blood pump:

Conclusion

Behind every successful transfusion is a selfless donor who chose to help a stranger in need.

Through the spirit of voluntary blood donation and initiatives like True Blood Pump, countless lives continue to receive a second chance.

The message of World Blood Donor Day is simple yet powerful: when we donate blood, we do more than save lives—we inspire humanity. May this noble act continue to unite people through compassion, generosity, and the shared commitment to helping others.

“It’s not just about giving blood; it’s about giving hope. Be a source of light for someone in need.”

What Food safety day is conveying to us: An introduction

World Food Safety Day is observed every year on 7 June to raise awareness about the importance of safe food and the prevention of foodborne diseases.

Established by the United Nations in 2018 and first observed in 2019, the day is jointly facilitated by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

The theme for World Food Safety Day 2026 is “From burden to solutions – safe food everywhere”, highlighting the need to use science, data, and practical solutions to reduce foodborne illnesses.

The day brings together governments, food producers, businesses, scientists, and consumers to promote safer food practices and strengthen food safety systems. Through campaigns, webinars, educational activities, and awareness drives, it encourages collective action to ensure safe food for everyone, everywhere.

Saint Dr MSG on healthy farming: the first step towards food safety

Healthy farming is the first step to Food safety, as also projected by World Food Safety Day.

Dera Sacha Sauda (DSS), based in Sirsa, Haryana, has developed large-scale certified organic farms that demonstrate the potential of sustainable farming practices. Under the guidance of Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan, the organization adopts modern agricultural methods such as polyhouse cultivation, drip irrigation, and vermicomposting. These eco-friendly techniques support the cultivation of a wide variety of high-value and non-traditional crops while promoting environmental conservation and efficient resource use.

Key Agricultural Activities:

  • Vermicomposting initiatives: Saint Dr MSG has suggested the use of natural fertilizers using organic matter to keep the crops nutrition & health friendly.
  • Awards & Recognition: The ashram’s horticultural breakthroughs in Kinnow (mandarin oranges) and vanilla have been recognized with awards from the Haryana Government and the Union Agriculture Ministry.
  • Advanced Research Center: DSS operates an on-site agricultural research center that develops hybrid seeds (such as advanced cotton hybrids) and tests organic pesticide substitutes like ayurvedic mixtures.

Promotion & Farmer Outreach:

  • Farmer Education: The organization of DSS actively hosts agricultural fairs (Kisan Melas) and workshops where advanced farming techniques, organic farming and animal husbandry are promoted.
  • Market Access: DSS has committed to providing marketing facilities to farmers who transition to 100% organic practices.
  • Sustainable Living: Volunteers are encouraged to manage zero-waste farms, utilizing agri-waste and leftover fodder to create organic manure rather than burning crop residue.

Saint Dr MSG’s views on Hydroponics:

Hydroponics is a modern concept of agriculture that advocates soil-less farming in order to remove fertile soil as a constraint in farming.

Saint Dr MSG, after extensive research and practice in agriculture, has suggested some quite unique tips over the issue:

  • Use Coco-Peat Media: He recommends utilizing coconut hulls or peat as the primary soil substitute to provide plants with optimal root aeration and foundational support.
  • Nutrient and Environmental Monitoring: Start your setup using small plantlets and carefully monitor both the pH levels and the nourishment of the water solution and surrounding lighting, temperature, and humidity levels to ensure success.
  • System Flushing: Regularly pump water through the hydroponic setup to actively flush out any residual material or nutrient buildup.
  • Weather Independence: By growing crops indoors or in controlled environments, farmers can bypass unpredictable weather conditions and enjoy consistent, year-round yields.
  • Space and Yield: Hydroponics allows for high-density, vertical farming that yields more nutritious and healthy produce. It is a practical way to grow crops on small plots of land, balconies, or indoors

Farming at home: Kitchen Garden

Saint Dr. MSG emphasizes that space constraints should never prevent someone from eating clean, chemical-free food, advocating that a kitchen garden can be successfully started by anyone using simple, low-cost household items. His core advice bridges spiritual mindfulness with practical, zero-waste gardening hacks.

1. Utilize Household Waste for Pots

  • Repurpose everyday containers: Urban dwellers without open ground can use empty water bottles, old dustbins, or broken earthen pots.
  • Engage children with design: Draw cartoon characters (like Chhota Bheem) on plastic bottles to encourage kids to take responsibility for watering their assigned “character”.

2. High-Yield Essentials for Small Spaces

  • Prioritize high-return crops: Plant space-efficient vegetables like a single chili plant, four to five okra plants, or a bottle gourd vine to yield an abundant supply of fresh produce.
  • Ensure thorough aeration: For home gardens with loose soil beds, practice deeper tilling or turning of the soil to bring rich nutrients to the surface and naturally decay any plant stubble into fertile manure.

3. Spiritual and Natural Nourishment

  • The power of intention: Connect with the living plants through positive energy and prayer, which is believed to improve the final quality and quantity of the harvest.
  • Say no to chemicals: Rely strictly on home-crafted vermicompost and green organic manure rather than synthetic sprays to eliminate hospital bills caused by pesticide-laden food

Healthy cooking: tips by Saint Dr MSG on world food safety day

Where farming might not be a feasible option, cooking plays an important role in food safety, health and nutrition. While the method of cooking can determine the quality of food, at the same time, vibes during cooking affect the health of the consumer as well.

How meditation while cooking works?

Saint Dr MSG advises meditation while cooking from day 1. Why’s that?

The vibes that go into the food while cooking are translated into the health and nutrition of the consumer. Cooking is like a conversation between 2 human beings, only it’s with food. Happier the first person, relaxed is the second. Angrier the first person, sad is the second.

Thus, it is important that the cook is relaxed and calm while cooking, so that the food has a nourishing effect on the consumer. And what better way of relaxing your mind than meditation.

Food cooked while meditating is filled with a feeling of love and growth. It will not only calm the mind of the person consuming it, but it may even heal numerous health problems and help excel the mind & soul in spirituality.

Papa ki Rasoi: healthy food recipes for every dish

“Papa ki Rasoi” is a dedicated culinary segment by Saint Dr. MSG that features healthy, creative recipes designed to prove that nutritious food can be exceptionally tasty. His cooking philosophy bridges the gap between clean eating and traditional flavor cravings.

  • Core Healthy Cooking Philosophies
    • Oil-Free Innovation: Saint Dr MSG promotes cooking tools like air fryers. He explains that you can still enjoy traditional favorites like samosas or pakoras by air frying them to completely eliminate deep-frying oil without losing the signature crunch.
    • Water-Based Cooking Tech: Long before commercial oil-free appliances became popular, he developed unique methods to cook and sauté traditional snacks directly in boiling water to keep them light and heart-healthy.
    • Organic Over Unhealthy Bans: He clarifies that staying healthy doesn’t require extreme bans on common ingredients like refined flour; instead, the focus should be shifting toward pure organic food, home grown vegetables, and wholesome, homemade meals.
  • Signature “Papa ki Rasoi” Healthy Elements
    • Nutrient-Dense Salads: The recipes focus on high-fiber, vitamin-rich salad assortments prepared with unique dressings that mimic traditional tanginess without using unhealthy preservatives.
    • Guilt-Free Street Food Roasting: The segment re-engineers standard Indian street food into roasted versions, prioritizing high protein, clean fuel, and gut-friendly spices over heavy fats.
    • The famous ‘Bajra pinni’ recipe of winters: One of the most popular recipes involving millet flour, jaggery, desi ghee, and various nuts (like almonds, cashews, and raisins) is a very healthy option, especially in winters.

Food and welfare: an important tangent

While food safety is an important concern in today’s world of rapid development, yet not everyone is fortunate enough to have a basic 2 square meal for the day.

Many organisations come forward to help the destitute. Talking about Dera Sacha Sauda, it is working day and night to help the needy across the world get basic necessities despite serving langar (communal meal) 3 times a day daily, free of cost, in premises based in Haryana, India.

Some worthy welfare activities with respect to food include:

  • Service of water to travellers via drink dispensing units at various locations on roads.
  • Fruits & ration to ill, pregnant and needful ensuring healthy intake and recovery.
  • Food donation bank where families fast once a week and donate the ration to a needful family. This unique concept helps with the health of both the donor and the receiving family.
  • Grains and water to birds: While it’s important to care about  human beings, animal welfare is indeed an important part of humanity. Thus the organisation advocates keeping grains and water on rooftops.

Conclusion

World food safety day is not just a promotional activity of international organisations. It is meant to find the solutions of important problems like the inequitable distribution of basic resources and nutritional problems that both the providers and consumers are going to face in the near future as concrete landscapes continue to expand.

Let’s stop and reflect back! On our part, what we could have done and we could do now!

Every bite saved from throwing away is someone’s meal and every unhealthy bite is a call to lifetime illness because health, once lost, cannot always be completely recovered.

World environment day: Introduction

Every year on June 5, the world comes together to celebrate World Environment Day, a global initiative dedicated to raising awareness and inspiring action for the protection of our planet. As environmental challenges such as pollution, climate change, deforestation, and biodiversity loss continue to grow, the world environment day serves as a reminder that every individual has a role to play in building a greener and healthier future.

Environmental protection becomes more effective when communities come together with a shared purpose. Across India, various organizations and volunteer groups contribute to this mission through cleanliness campaigns, tree plantation drives, waste management initiatives, and awareness programs. Among them, Dera Sacha Sauda has gained attention for organizing large-scale environmental activities and encouraging public participation in nature conservation. World Milk Day 2026: The Unique ‘Cow Milk Party’ Initiative Against Addiction

  1. Introduction – More than just a glass of milk
  2. What is World Milk Day – why world milk day?
  3. Cow Milk party – A unique celebration fighting addictions
  4. The record setting initiative of cow milk party spreads across the world
  5. A small choice that can change lives
  6. Conclusion – choosing health everyday

Introduction — More Than Just a Glass of Milk

Every year, World Milk Day reminds people about the importance of nutrition, health, and healthy living. Celebrated on June 1, the day highlights how something as simple as a glass of milk can support strength, growth, and well-being.

But in recent years, milk has also become part of a larger social message — choosing health over harmful addictions. Unique initiatives like the “Cow Milk Party,” organised by Dera Sacha Sauda, have drawn attention for promoting healthier lifestyles and encouraging people to stay away from tobacco, alcohol, and drugs.

Sometimes, positive change begins with the simplest choices we make every day.

What Is World Milk Day — And Why Is It Celebrated?

World Milk Day is observed every year on June 1 to recognise the importance of milk as a source of nutrition, health, and livelihood for millions of people worldwide. It was established in 2001 by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

This year’s Theme for World Milk Day is ‘Celebrating women farmers’ in order to highlight and honour the contributions of women in dairy farming.

World Milk day highlights several important messages:

  • Nutrition & Health: Milk provides calcium, protein, vitamins, and energy essential for growth and overall well-being.
  • Support for Farmers: It recognises the contribution of dairy farmers and the dairy industry to everyday life.
  • Healthy Living: The day encourages people to adopt healthier food choices and lifestyles.

Beyond nutrition alone, World Milk Day also reminds us that good health is often built through small daily habits — habits that quietly shape stronger bodies, calmer minds, and healthier futures.

Unique Celebrations: The record setting initiative of cow milk party

Most awareness campaigns warn people about the dangers of addiction. The “Cow Milk Party” chose a different approach — promoting something positive instead of only spreading fear.

Mass Participation and world record setting initiative:

On May 17, 2017, Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan of Dera Sacha Sauda, Haryana, India, organized a “Cow Milk Party” for the premiere of the film “Jattu Engineer.” 19713 attendees participated in the occasion at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Complex in New Delhi, setting a record for the Asia Book of World Records.

Cow Milk Party — A Celebration Fighting Addiction

While the celebration is already unique in itself, its targets are wider than the name itself.

  • Purpose: The initiative of the cow milk party is aimed to raise awareness regarding the protection of cows and provide a healthy alternative for celebrations. This promotes physical as well as mental health.
  • It is a part of various welfare works organised in the premises of Dera Sacha Sauda, a world popular NGO of India.
  • Welfare Focus: The Dera Sacha Sauda often combines these celebrations with other humanitarian works. For example, while celebrating a birthday or anniversary, the society not only will organise a cow milk party at home or so but will also go for tree plantation or blood donation.

Due to their affiliation with Indian culture and health advantages, these parties are popular among followers and are frequently organized around major occasions like the Dera’s foundation month.

A Small Choice That Can Change Lives

Big changes in life often begin with surprisingly small decisions.

  • Choosing milk over harmful intoxicants
  • Choosing health over temporary habits
  • Choosing self-control over addiction
  • Choosing long-term well-being over momentary pleasure

These choices may appear ordinary for a day, but repeated over time, they shape healthier bodies, calmer minds, and stronger families.

Many addictions do not disappear overnight. Recovery usually begins with one conscious step, one supportive community, and one decision to live differently. That is what makes initiatives promoting healthier alternatives so meaningful.

Sometimes, saving a life does not start with a dramatic moment.

Sometimes, it simply begins with choosing something healthier — one glass, one habit, one day at a time.

Conclusion — Choosing Health Every Day

World Milk Day is more than a celebration of nutrition — it is a reminder that healthier societies are built through healthier daily choices. Initiatives like the “Cow Milk Party” show how even simple habits can carry powerful messages of recovery, awareness, and positive living.

In a world struggling with stress, addiction, and unhealthy lifestyles, choosing something nourishing over something harmful can become the beginning of real change.

After all, “Sometimes the smallest healthy choice becomes the beginning of the biggest life change.”

Commemorating the 134th Incarnation Day of Revered Shah Mastana Ji Maharaj, Founder of Dera Sacha Sauda and The Emperor of Spiritual Ecstasy

As millions of devotees across the globe commemorate the 134th Incarnation Day of Revered Shah Mastana Ji Maharaj, the founder of Dera Sacha Sauda, we bow in reverence to the divine personality who sowed the seeds of spirituality and humanity in millions of lives that are growing into beautiful trees worldwide.

Divine Incarnation of Revered Shah Mastana Ji Maharaj

Revered Shah Mastana Ji Maharaj, also known as Beparwah Shah Mastana Ji Maharaj, incarnated on the auspicious occasion of Kartik Purnima (full moon in November) in 1891 in the village of Kotra, Tehsil Gandhey, District Kalat, in Balochistan (now in Pakistan) in the house of revered father Shri Pilamal Ji and revered mother Mata Tulsa Bai Ji. The family belonged to a Kshatriya clan. Before His Holiness’s birth, a philanthropist had prophesied that the couple would be blessed with a son who would be born for the welfare of society. Born as a beacon of light, the revered parents lovingly named His Holiness Shri Khema Mal Ji, which was later changed to Shah Mastana Ji Maharaj by revered Sawan Shah Ji Maharaj.

His Holiness’s arrival brought immense spiritual joy to not only his parents but also to those who were enchanted by His Holiness’s divine light. People would feel a unique sense of peace just by looking at His Holiness’s divine face.

A Glance at Revered Beparwah Shah Mastana Ji Maharaj’s Childhood

From his earliest years, Revered Shah Mastana Ji Maharaj displayed an extraordinary inclination towards spirituality, kindness, and humanity’s welfare. His Holiness was not like other children who thought of toys or playing. He cared about the suffering of others. His Holiness was always drawn to serving saints and the poor, reflecting profound compassion for humanity.

His Holiness’s father used to own a sweets shop. When His Holiness’s father was not at the shop, He would pick up the sweets and distribute them among saints and the needy. In general, only kind-hearted saints and great souls do such deeds. From childhood itself, His Holiness showed signs of deep devotion and love for God. Because of this, He always remained engaged in the effort of attaining the Almighty. With this aim, His Holiness also visited many holy places.

When Revered Shah Mastana Ji Maharaj found a way to quench His longing for the Almighty

Despite having every worldly comfort, Revered Shah Mastana Ji Maharaj’s soul felt an intense longing for the Supreme Power. His Holiness had once dedicated a small temple to Satyanarayan and installed a golden idol, where He would regularly worship. One day, while immersed in worship, a saint wearing white clothes and extraordinary radiance appeared before Him. The Saint spoke to His Holiness that the Almighty cannot be realized through ritual worship directed towards physical objects. The Almighty resides within the human body, but to attain Him, one needs the guidance of a True Saint. One must learn the method to attain the Almighty from a True Saint. Without that method, the way of devotion to the Almighty cannot be realized.

Overwhelmed and wishing to serve the holy guest, His Holiness went to bring something for the saint. Fearing the golden idol might be stolen through the unlocked door, and to ensure the saint’s presence upon return, Revered Shah Mastana Ji Maharaj locked the door from the outside, with the Saint inside. However, when His Holiness returned and opened the door, the Saint was gone. He realized that this was no ordinary person but a divine being who came to guide Him, increasing His longing for the Almighty.

The Quest for a True Guru

The words of that saint appealed to Revered Shah Mastana Ji Maharaj, and from that very day, He abandoned idol-worship and similar practices and began searching for a True Saint to seek the Almighty.

In this spiritual journey, He met countless saints and religious figures. Many boasted of having miraculous powers, claiming to be able to make one ‘fly in the air’ or ‘walk on water.’ However, when Revered Shah Mastana Ji Master would ask them if they could truly facilitate a meeting with the Supreme Power, God, no one could honestly agree. He never found the spiritual peace he sought, nor did He feel any of them were the Satguru (True Master) he was looking for.

Finding the True Master: Revered Sawan Shah Ji Maharaj

His Holiness continued his search. His journey finally led Him to Beas, where he attended a spiritual discourse of revered Sawan Shah Ji Maharaj. The moment He saw Revered Sawan Shah Ji Maharaj, He instantly recognized Him. He was the very same Saint who had appeared in His temple and then disappeared. Listening to the spiritual discourse, He felt deep peace within and contentment in His heart. Finally, His Holiness’s search for a True Master ended. His heart was completely convinced that this indeed was the True Master. His thirst to experience divine happiness increased even more. He learned the holy Method of Meditation from Revered Sawan Shah Ji Maharaj.

Whenever Shah Mastana Ji would sit in the spiritual discourse or before the Revered Sawan Shah Ji Maharaj, He would be so overcome with devotion that He would forget the world around Him. His eyes would remain fixed lovingly on the Satguru, and He would repeatedly say: “This true treasure, this true wealth, I have found today.”

He would often remain absorbed in meditation for long periods, forgetting even His own body. Sometimes, He would sit so still that people thought He had gone into complete Divine Absorption (Samadhi). In truth, He had attained the treasure of the Almighty’s Name, the very treasure He had been yearning for since childhood to see the Supreme Power, Almighty God.

When Shah Mastana Ji Maharaj’s Grace melted someone’s Envy

Once, Beparwah Shah Mastana Ji Maharaj organized a Bhandara in Balochistan in the name of His revered Satguru, Baba Sawan Shah Ji. A Muslim peer living in that region felt extremely jealous of this. Out of envy, he plotted to ensure that this Bhandara would fail. He gathered many people from his community and went to His Holiness’s house.

But the King of Kings, the Shahenshah, Revered Shah Mastana Ji Maharaj, served unlimited Bhandara to all of them with great love and grace. Not only that, every person who accompanied the peer also received one silver coin and a rupee as a blessing (One rupee had a great value at that time).

Observing these extraordinary divine miracles of the revered Satguru, the peer was astonished. He felt deep remorse and began to repent for his mistake. A few days later, this same peer went along with Shah Mastana Ji to Beas Ashram and prayed before Hazoor Baba Sawan Singh Ji Maharaj, saying: “Please bless me with the same spiritual Name (Naam) that you have given to Mastana Shah Ji.”

On this, the revered Baba Ji replied: “My child! The grace (blessing) is one, and I have already given it to Mastana Ji. You, too, learn the Method of Meditation and practise it.”

The Holy Slogan- Dhan Dhan Satguru Tera Hi Aasra

His Holiness sought approval from Revered Sawan Shah Ji Maharaj for the holy slogan, “Dhan Dhan Satguru Tera Hi Aasra,” a way of being thankful to God, meaning “Praise to the Almighty God, we have only Your support.” Revered Sawan Shah Ji Maharaj accepted this as an all-religion slogan, declaring that it would be accepted in the holy realm of the Almighty God when someone chanted it with a true heart. There are many miracles associated with this holy slogan that happened afterwards. A devotee once chanted the holy slogan at a train station, praying for a train to stop, and as soon as the words left his mouth, the train stopped immediately. By chanting the holy slogan regularly, many have felt peace within and they have experienced a boost in positivity. There are so many such real-life stories associated with the miracles of the holy slogan that keeping count of each one of them is impossible.

The Divine Voice that Mesmerized Souls

Revered Sawan Shah Ji Maharaj entrusted Shah Mastana Ji with the spiritual task of spreading God’s name, declaring Him spiritual successor and sending Him to the Bagad region (northern Rajasthan and western Haryana). Though Shah Mastana Ji primarily spoke in the Balochistani dialect, a language largely unknown to the people of Bagad, they would be instantly mesmerized by His holy voice. His spiritual discourses were filled with a divine energy that transcended any language barriers.

The Foundation of Dera Sacha Sauda – Confluence of all Religions

In the year 1948, Revered Shah Mastana Ji Maharaj laid the foundation of Dera Sacha Sauda three kilometres away from the city on Sirsa Road (which is now known as Shah Satnam Ji Marg). The pious name, Dera Sacha Sauda,  literally means “The Camp of the True Deal”, a place where one can trade their vices, problems and diseases for the priceless wealth of God’s Name. The institution was established with the mission of teaching the Naam-Shabd (method of meditation) for free of cost to people from all walks of life, without any distinction of religion, caste, creed, or colour. People started coming to the Ashram in large numbers to learn the Method of Meditation to achieve freedom from the cycle of life and death, and to shun drugs and other vices by adopting a life of happiness and selfless service. Today, the number of lives being enlightened by this true trade of Almighty God’s Name has reached over 70 million people across the globe.

Shah Mastana Ji gave an unforgettable Message of Kindness through this Example

In those days (in 1948), the place where the Ashram was established was extremely frightening due to poisonous animals living there. Even during the daytime, no one dared to come near that area. There were very large, wild bushes everywhere, and poisonous creatures like snakes and scorpions used to live there. Seeing everyone frightened, Beparwah Shah Mastana Ji Maharaj sermonized, “Within the boundary of this Ashram, no one shall kill a snake, scorpion, or any other creature. And no creature will harm anyone here either. This Ashram will be a place where no one will suffer loss or injury.”

And as per the divine command of Shah Mastana Ji Maharaj, no one harms any living being in the Ashram from that day onwards, and it shall remain so in the future. Even now, if occasionally a snake or scorpion appears within the four walls of the Ashram, the volunteers gently catch it and release it far away in the open fields—always without harming it. In return, as His Holiness had sermonized, the creatures never harm them either.

Conclusion

The spiritual seed sown by Shah Mastana Ji Maharaj in the form of Dera Sacha Sauda has today flourished into a huge, ever-expanding tree, encompassing millions of volunteers globally. This divine institution continues to provide the spiritual fruits and the cool, sweet shade of goodness and the Almighty’s Name. His Holiness’s legacy, rooted in the teachings of unity, selfless service, and meditation, continues to be nurtured by his spiritual successor, the current and third Spiritual Master, Saint Dr. MSG. Revered Shah Mastana Ji’s Incarnation Day is a holy reminder to all of us to walk the path of devotion and kindness.
