In the recent times, devastating floods in the northern regions of India, including Punjab and Haryana, have been showing the wrath of nature. The rising water levels of the Ghaggar river have posed a significant threat to villages situated on its banks, leaving people and their livelihoods in jeopardy. However, amid these dire circumstances, a heartwarming tale of courage, compassion, and swift action emerged. The Shah Satnam Ji Green S Welfare Force Wing and the volunteers of Dera Sacha Sauda, inspired by Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan came to the rescue of a village in Fatehabad city, demonstrating their selfless dedication to serving humanity.

Inspiration from Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan
The incredible rescue operation carried out by the Shah Satnam Ji Green S Welfare Force Wing and Dera Sacha Sauda volunteers was made possible by the inspiration of their spiritual leader, Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan aka Saint Dr. MSG. His teachings and example of selfless service have instilled a sense of responsibility towards society in the hearts of these volunteers. It is this inspiration that continues to drive them to be the guiding light for those in need.
Dera Sacha Sauda has issued ‘QR code’: Scan the code for help
In an innovative initiative, Dera Sacha Sauda has made assistance readily accessible to anyone in need. They have introduced a QR code that serves as a portal for help. By simply scanning the QR code, individuals can send an email or place a call, connecting them to a dedicated team of volunteers. This initiative helps individuals to seek aid swiftly and efficiently during emergencies like floods.
As the incarnation month filled hearts with delight.
Every year, the arrival of August brings a wave of happiness, gratitude, and celebration for millions of volunteers of Dera Sacha Sauda around the world. More than just another month on the calendar, it is cherished as the Incarnation Month of Saint Dr. MSG—a time to celebrate the birth of a spiritual guide whose teachings inspire countless people to live with kindness, compassion, and selfless service. This year (August 2026) is the 59th Incarnation Month of Saint Dr. MSG.
The celebrations of the Birth Month are not limited to festivities alone; they are a reminder of the values that Saint Dr. MSG encourages— care for fellow beings, respect for nature, and service to humanity without expecting anything in return. Across countries and communities, people come together to express their gratitude through spiritual gatherings, welfare activities, tree plantation drives, blood donation camps, and other countless acts of humanity taught by Saint Dr. MSG.
Saint Dr. MSG’s Incarnation Month Brought A New Era for Dera Sacha Sauda
When Saint Dr. MSG assumed the spiritual leadership (Guru Gaddi) of Dera Sacha Sauda as the third True Master, society was facing many challenges. Drug addiction, family conflicts, environmental degradation, rising stress, and a lack of compassion were becoming increasingly common. While these problems affected people across all walks of life, many struggled to find lasting solutions.
Saint Dr. MSG responded by teaching that spirituality should not remain confined to places of worship or a few hours of prayer. Instead, true spirituality should become a way of life—reflected in honesty, kindness, respect for others, and selfless service to humanity.
One of the greatest examples of this vision is the launch of 176 humanitarian and social welfare initiatives by Saint Dr. MSG. These welfare works have inspired millions of volunteers to serve humanity regardless of religion, caste, nationality, or social background.
These initiatives include:
● donating blood to save lives,
● planting trees to protect the environment,
● helping disaster victims,
● feeding the hungry,
● supporting underprivileged families,
● caring for orphaned children,
● promoting cleanliness campaigns,
● encouraging water conservation,
● rescuing and caring for animals,
● providing educational assistance,
● and many other humanitarian efforts that continue throughout the year.
These activities have shown that spirituality becomes meaningful when it improves the lives of others. Rather than asking volunteers to withdraw from society, the True Master, Saint Dr. MSG, encourages them to actively contribute to it. Every act of kindness—whether donating blood, planting a tree, helping a neighbour, or feeding someone in need—is seen as an expression of love for God. This practical approach has inspired people of all ages to participate in social welfare, proving that even small acts of goodness can create lasting change.
The Method of Meditation by Saint Dr. MSG has Changed Countless Lives
One of Saint Dr. MSG’s most remarkable contributions is the Method of Meditation. The True Master teaches it free of cost to people from every corner of the world. Without charging any fees or expecting anything in return, he has taught millions how to connect with God through meditation while leading responsible family and professional lives.
For many, the Method of Meditation has become far more than a spiritual practice. It has offered hope to individuals battling anxiety, depression, emotional struggles, destructive habits and even incurable diseases like cancer. Countless people have publicly shared how practising this method within 15 minutes of learning it gave them the strength to leave alcohol, tobacco, drugs, and other addictions. Likewise, many people, who were battling with incurable diseases, were able to live a healthier life by boosting their willpower with the regular practice of the Method of Meditation.
From Traditions to Modernity: Saint Dr MSG is the Transition Modern Generation needed to Understand Spirituality
Sometimes, the idea of spirituality can feel a bit outdated, especially to the younger generation. Many people mistakenly believe that being spiritual means you have to sit in silence in a forest or completely give up your normal life. Furthermore, modern life is fast-paced. Between careers, studies, family responsibilities, and technology, many people struggle to find time for spiritual growth. Recognizing these challenges, Saint Dr. MSG introduced an approach that helps spirituality seem enjoyable and naturally fit into everyday life rather than compete with it.
The True Master’s spiritual discourses, commonly known as satsangs, go beyond explaining religious principles. They offer practical guidance on dealing with everyday challenges—building stronger families, respecting parents, maintaining good health, avoiding addictions, managing stress, developing positive habits, and becoming responsible citizens. This practical style has made spirituality easier to understand, especially for younger generations who often seek answers to real-life problems rather than theoretical discussions.
Even better, the True Master specifically orients spiritual discourses in a way that our modern lifestyle actually permits. We are all incredibly busy with jobs, studies or other commitments, so these spiritual discourses are held on weekdays, weekends and holidays. This simple schedule change makes it easy for everyone—from busy corporate workers and business owners to stressed college students—to attend without compromising their other life commitments. To keep the atmosphere highly engaging, especially for the youth, these satsangs are a beautiful combination of sermons and musical activities. This proves that feeling connected to God can be a fun, joyful experience. This joyful, dynamic approach successfully shatters the outdated myth that spirituality has to be rigid, silent, or boring.
Welfare activities have become an inseparable part of Dera Sacha Sauda’s identity. Rather than viewing spirituality and selfless service as separate paths, Saint Dr. MSG demonstrates that they complement one another. Listening to spiritual guidance is only the beginning; putting those teachings into action through selfless services to humanity completes the journey.
As a result, the volunteers now celebrate important occasions not only with prayers but also by donating blood, planting trees, helping those in need, supporting environmental campaigns, and participating in community welfare, with volunteers currently participating in 176 different humanitarian initiatives worldwide.
Close to Everyone’s Hearts: How Incarnation Month is Celebrated in Dera Sacha Sauda
If you have ever wondered what the actual celebration looks like on the ground at Dera Sacha Sauda, it is a truly magnificent sight to behold. The morning begins with a grand, soul-stirring satsang to set a positive, deeply reflective tone for the celebrations ahead.
The celebration certainly doesn’t stop at prayers and music. The begining of the month of August is directly followed by mega tree plantation drives, where the volunteers don’t just plant a handful of saplings; they plant millions of trees worldwide to actively fight global warming. Dera Sacha Sauda actually holds three Guinness World Records for planting the most trees in a single day. It is an amazing way to give back to nature.
Simultaneously, the volunteers organize blood donation camps in different parts of the world. Known globally as the “True Blood Pump,” Dera Sacha Sauda volunteers donate thousands of units of blood to ensure hospitals and military banks never run out.
How People Express Their Joy at Homes: Celebrating Incarnation Month in Communities
Instead of hosting toxic or extravagant materialistic gatherings, volunteers lovingly host simple, wholesome “milk parties” as per the True Master’s guidance. This healthy alternative brings people together without the negative aspects of modern party culture. Homes are enthusiastically decorated with immense love, featuring beautiful handmade cards, heartfelt written wishes, and creative homemade decor designed specifically for the birthday celebrations.
Volunteers actively do community services right in their own neighborhoods. This includes planting trees in local parks, distributing free food, clean water and clothes to the poor, and feeding stray animals like dogs and cows. Every single act of kindness is their own special way of saying “Happy Birthday” to their True Master.
The Month of August: A Reminder of Goodness in a World Fading Into Darkness
The month of August serves as a beautiful, powerful reminder of goodness in this world. It is about remembering and following Saint Dr. MSG’s teachings that have transformed millions of lives and continue to inspire people to become better human beings every day.
When we look around at the news, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by negativity. But witnessing a global community come together to celebrate life through unprecedented acts of charity, environmental care, and pure love shows us that there is always hope. The simple take-home message is this: true spirituality is found in the joy of giving and the unwavering, day-to-day commitment to making the world a significantly better place for everyone.
A father was teaching his little son to ride a bicycle.
The child kept asking, “Which way should I turn?”
His father didn’t shout instructions from a distance. He simply held the bicycle steady until the child learned to balance on his own.
Years later, the child no longer needed someone to hold the bicycle—but he never forgot who taught him how to ride it.
Life is much the same.
There comes a time when no one can make our decisions for us. We choose our friends. We choose our habits. We choose how we respond to success, failure, temptation, anger, and despair. Every choice quietly shapes the person we become.
That is where a Guru’s role begins.
A true Guru does not live our life for us. He strengthens the person who must live it. He does not merely solve today’s problems; He nurtures the wisdom and character to face tomorrow’s challenges with courage, compassion, and clarity.
This Guru Purnima, let’s pause and learn about one such great guide and a spiritual guru that millions are lucky to have in their lives – Dera Sacha Sauda chief, Saint Dr Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji insan.
WHO IS A TRUE GURU? EXPLAINS SAINT DR MSG
Saint Dr Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji insan explains what it means to be a true Guru and who is one.
He adds – ‘Gu’ means darkness, and ‘Ru’ means light. A true ‘Guru’ is the one who kindles the flame of wisdom to dissolve the darkness of ignorance.
But what does darkness look like in today’s world?
It is not merely the absence of light. It is the silent spread of drug addiction, rising crime, unchecked anger, greed, loneliness, hopelessness, and the gradual loss of compassion. Sometimes, darkness is simply knowing the right path yet lacking the strength to walk it.
And what is the light a Guru offers?
Not just answers, but awakening.
Not just knowledge, but the wisdom to live by it.
As Saint Dr Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji insan explains,
● A true Guru nurtures inner strength through meditation, enabling the mind to rise above harmful addictions and destructive habits.
● He instills the courage to choose righteousness over convenience, compassion over indifference, and service over selfishness.
● His teachings inspire us to extend a helping hand to those in need, protect the environment that sustains us, care for speechless animals, and become responsible contributors to society.
That is why Guru Purnima is more than a festival of gratitude.
Guru Purnima is a reminder that the greatest light does not merely brighten our path—it transforms the traveller walking upon it.
SAINT DR. MSG’s GUIDANCE: A LIGHT IN THE WORLD OF DARKNESS
For millions of followers, this is what Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan represents—not simply a spiritual teacher to be admired from afar, but a guide whose teachings are meant to be lived, whether through meditation, selfless service, or choosing compassion over convenience.
Not only humanity and welfare, but Saint Dr Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji insan also teaches how to always follow sunshine in the dark deep world of lies and destruction.
This Guru Purnima, let’s reflect what Saint Dr MSG has taught us about some important aspects of life through all these years and be grateful for having a true Guru in our life.
● Success Without Peace –
People are achieving more.
Yet…
sleeping less
smiling less
trusting less
feeling fulfilled less
Saint Dr Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji insan taught meditation which can bring inner calmness and help us feel peaceful in life.
● Constant Comparison–
Social media has made comparison a daily habit.
Someone is richer.
Someone is prettier.
Someone is travelling.
Someone is succeeding.
Saint Dr MSG suggests to redirect this comparison: Compare today’s you with yesterday’s you. This will bring improvement in ourselves and we’ll become a better person with a better future.
● The Identity Crisis –
Who am I?
Why was I born?
Why only human life?
What does human life actually stand for?
Saint Dr Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji insan also explains why human life is valuable and humanity is worthy. Of the 84 lakh lives that vedas talk about, human life is the only one that can dive deep into meditation & feel the purpose of their presence.
As Saint Dr MSG suggests, all that is needed is a few minutes of daily meditation.
● Information Overload, Wisdom Drought–
We know what to eat. Still we’re unhealthy.
We know relationships matter. Still we feel lonely.
We know anger harms us. Still we lose control.
The issue isn’t lack of information. It’s a lack of inner direction.
Saint Dr MSG taught us how to control our mind, and listen to the soul. He explains that every human being is influenced by two inner voices—the mind and the soul. The mind constantly seeks pleasure, comfort, and instant gratification, while the soul quietly guides us towards balance, contentment, and what is truly good for us.
● The Company We Keep –
It is often said that our future is shaped by the company we choose.
– Good company inspires discipline, kindness, and growth.
– Bad company slowly normalizes harmful habits, poor decisions, and a life without purpose.
Saint Dr Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji insan teaches us to choose companions who elevate our character, encourage righteous living rather than supporting us in bad decisions and help us become better human beings rather than simply fitting in.
From encouraging self-reliance and self-defence, especially for girls, to promoting education, dignity, responsibility, and practical life skills, Saint Dr MSG prepares individuals not only to face the world with confidence but also to contribute positively to it.
Saint Dr MSG has organised various programmes from time to time for the same:
∆ Papa Coach: teaching various activities like sports as well as defence himself
∆ Schools: for not just teaching bookish knowledge, but also promoting worldly wisdom and Co-curricular activities.
∆ Career guide: helping discover inner passion and following it to the highest peak
∆ Vocational training: a guide for making every individual independent and self-reliant.
True guidance empowers a person to live with both inner strength and practical wisdom.
● Freedom Without Direction:
Modern society often says,
“Do whatever makes you happy.”
A true Guru asks,
“Will that happiness still be worth it ten years from now?”
In pursuit of momentary pleasure, we may harm innocent animals for the taste of our tongue, lie to our parents and break their trust, or turn to recreational substances in moments of stress and despair.
But what follows?
Temporary pleasure often gives way to lasting consequences—damaged relationships, harmful company, addiction, and a life gradually drifting away from peace and purpose.
Saint Dr MSG teaches us to pause before making such choices, to face difficult moments with courage instead of escape, and to choose the path that brings lasting happiness rather than fleeting satisfaction.
Saint Dr Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji insan asks to follow 3 simple rules for staying away from these kind of mistakes:
– Staying away from drugs.
– Avoiding any food derived after killing an animal.
– Staying loyal in human relations: considering agemates as siblings, respecting elders and treating younger ones like your own.
Think of eating your favourite meal. There comes a moment when the body has had enough, yet the mind whispers, “Just one more bite—it tastes so good.” The soul, however, reminds us that enough is enough. When we learn to quiet the restless mind through meditation and self-awareness, the gentle voice of the soul becomes easier to hear, helping us choose lasting well-being over momentary pleasure.
HOW CAN WE CELEBRATE GURU PURNIMA WHILE WALKING ON THE PATH THAT SAINT DR MSG HAS ENLIGHTENED
This Guru Purnima, let us not stop at celebrating our Guru. Let us celebrate Thy teachings through the lives we choose to live.
The truest tribute to a Guru is not admiration—it is application.
Let this be the year we begin with one small step as Saint Dr MSG taught us, because every great transformation starts with a single choice.
(Lessons that Saint Dr MSG taught us):
● Maybe… feed a hungry family.
● Maybe… plant a tree that will outlive us.
● Maybe… donate blood and become the reason someone gets another chance at life.
● Maybe… spend an afternoon with children in an orphanage or elders in an old-age home who long for nothing more than a little time and kindness.
● Maybe… visit nearby hospital and help someone in need
● Maybe… help a voiceless animal by feeding them.
Or perhaps, simply become a little more patient, a little more compassionate, and a little more truthful than you were yesterday.
A single act may seem small, but every ocean begins with a single drop.
This Guru Purnima, let us strive to become that first drop of goodness—allowing our Guru’s light to shine not only in our prayers, but through our actions.
LET’S NOT JUST BELIEVE IN GURU, LET’S LISTEN TO HIM AND FOLLOW HIM
Take home message of Guru Purnima
The greatest teaching of a Guru is that He doesn’t begin by changing the world. He begins by changing the person who sees it. When the person changes, the choices change. When the choices change, families, communities, and eventually society begin to change too.
Saint Dr Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji insan often mentions that people say we believe in this particular guru, but then often fail to listen to their guru and follow the true spirit of his guidance.
Perhaps this Guru Purnima let’s not just celebrate Our Guru because He is someone who has all the answers. Rather, let’s express gratitude to the one who patiently teaches us how to live with the right questions—and gradually discover the answers through practice.
A Guru’s greatest miracle is not rewriting our destiny. It is empowering us to rewrite it ourselves.
Have you ever taken a moment to just stop, take a deep breath, and appreciate the absolute beauty of the natural world around us? It is so easy to get caught up in the daily grind, staring at screens and rushing from one obligation to another. But our planet is an incredible, living, breathing system that provides us with literally everything we need to survive—from the clean air in our lungs to the fresh food on our tables. Unfortunately, as a global society, we haven’t exactly been the best houseguests. We’ve pushed Mother Nature to her absolute limits, and she’s sending out SOS signals in the form of climate change and extreme weather. That’s exactly why we need to stop, listen, and take real, tangible action before it’s too late.
Understanding Why We Need World Nature Conservation Day
This brings us to World Nature Conservation Day, celebrated globally on July 28th every year. Why do we even need a specific day dedicated to nature conservation? The truth is, human memory is notoriously short because our convenience often overshadows our conscience. We need a dedicated reminder that a healthy, thriving environment is the absolute foundation of a stable human society. World Nature Conservation Day is that reminder. It isn’t just about posting a beautiful picture of a forest on social media; it’s a crucial call to action. It exists to remind us that we must protect our natural resources, including water, air, soil, and wildlife, for future generations. We need to understand that every single species, no matter how small, plays a vital role in the web of life.
How Dera Sacha Sauda is Contributing to World Nature Conservation Day
While many of us spend Nature Conservation Day talking about what should be done, some incredible organizations are out there actually doing the heavy lifting. One massive force for environmental good is Saint Dr. MSG’s non-profit and socio-spiritual organization, Dera Sacha Sauda. They don’t just preach about saving the earth; they have built a completely sustainable society model that actively heals it.
Let’s dive into exactly how they are contributing to nature conservation every single day:
1. In the Sector of Agriculture
Let’s start with agriculture, where our food comes from. While farming is essential, modern practices often do more harm than good through chemical runoff and waste. With Saint Dr. MSG’s guidance and techniques, Dera Sacha Sauda has completely revolutionized its farming methods to be eco-friendly.
1.1. Vermicomposting: From Organic Waste to Organic Fruits
Instead of letting organic waste pile up in massive, methane-producing landfills that contaminate local water sources, Dera Sacha Sauda uses earthworms to break down the organic matter. This process, known as vermicomposting, turns everyday agricultural waste into a rich, nutrient-dense organic fertilizer. They then use this natural compost to grow incredibly healthy organic fruits and vegetables, completely bypassing the need for synthetic chemicals while actively preventing water piling and contamination.
1.2. Mowing the Waste into the Soil
If you live near farming communities, you know that crop residue burning is a massive issue. Farmers often burn leftover stubble, which releases toxic smog into the air and destroys the soil’s natural microbiome. Instead of burning and polluting nature, Saint Dr. MSG advocates for mowing the agricultural waste directly back into the soil and does the same in the farming lands of Dera Sacha Sauda. This acts as a natural mulch, retaining moisture and naturally boosting soil fertility without adding a single puff of smoke to the atmosphere.
1.3. Soil-less Farming (Hydroponics) in Small Areas
Dera Sacha Sauda also tackles the issue of land scarcity and chemical runoff through soil-less farming, primarily hydroponics. By growing food in nutrient-rich water solutions, they can produce massive yields (multiple types of fruits and vegetables together) in very small areas. This incredible method provides an alternative to traditional farming that saves time, money and avoids fertilizer-made food, which can be highly harmful to nature and local ecosystems.
2. Afforestation: The Most Important Part of Nature Conservation
Now, let’s talk about arguably the most critical pillar of nature conservation: afforestation. Trees are the lungs of our planet, filtering out carbon dioxide and breathing out the oxygen we desperately need.
2.1. World Records of Dera Sacha Sauda in Tree Plantation
Over the years, Dera Sacha Sauda has taken tree planting to a level most of us can barely comprehend. We aren’t just talking about a few saplings here and there. Over 350 million trees have been planted by Dera Sacha Sauda’s volunteers across the world, and the number is increasing each day.
Dera Sacha Sauda holds three Guinness World Records in tree plantation:
2009: Volunteers set two simultaneous records by planting 938,007 saplings in just one hour and an astounding 6,873,451 saplings over an eight-hour period across multiple locations.
2011: On August 15, the organization surpassed its own one-hour achievement by successfully planting 1,945,535 trees within a 60-minute window.
2.2. Celebrations by Tree Plantation
What’s truly beautiful is how they’ve woven this into their daily culture. Saint Dr. MSG encourages the volunteers to celebrate their birthdays, wedding anniversaries, and other special milestones by planting trees. It’s a brilliant, heartwarming way to turn personal joy into a lifelong gift for the entire planet.
3. Cleanliness is Next to Godliness
You simply can’t claim to love nature while simultaneously trashing it. Dera Sacha Sauda operates on the deep philosophy that cleanliness is literally next to Godliness.
3.1. Mega Cleaning Campaigns in Cities and States
Dera Sacha Sauda organizes the most massive state and city cleaning campaigns the world has ever seen. We’re talking about mega-drives where hundreds of thousands of volunteers descend upon a heavily polluted city and completely clear it of garbage, unclog its drains, and sanitize public areas within a matter of mere hours.
3.2. Keeping Surroundings Clean
But it’s not just about these massive, record-breaking events. The organization instills a daily habit in its volunteers: if you see trash, pick it up, whether at home or outside. You don’t have to wait for someone else to do it. By keeping your houses clean and extending that care to your streets and local parks, you naturally clean the broader environment. If everyone just took responsibility for their own small corner of the world, nature would transform overnight.
4. Sustainability in the Premises of Dera Sacha Sauda
If you visit the premises of Dera Sacha Sauda, you’ll see sustainability everywhere. Dera Sacha Sauda strictly follows the golden rules of conservation: waste is meticulously segregated, and everything that can possibly be given a second life is recycled. They actively find ways to reduce their consumption of raw materials at every level of their operations.
5. Bye Bye Ethene Campaign
One of their most impactful ongoing initiatives is the “Bye Bye Ethene” campaign. This is a massive, grassroots push to completely eliminate the use of single-use plastics and polythene bags. Instead, they produce and promote the use of durable cloth bags, encouraging everyday people to break the toxic cycle of plastic pollution that is currently choking our wildlife and oceans.
6. Conserving Nature is Conserving Energy
You cannot have a serious conversation about nature conservation without addressing energy and water management.
6.1. Renewable Sources of Energy
Dera Sacha Sauda relies heavily on renewable sources of energy to power their facilities. From extensive solar panel installations that harness the sun’s power to biogas plants that convert biological waste into usable fuel, they are actively and aggressively reducing their carbon footprint.
6.2. Conserving Water
Water is treated with the utmost respect and care. They utilize extensive rainwater harvesting systems to catch every precious drop from the sky. In their agricultural fields, they employ drip irrigation to ensure water goes directly to the plant’s roots, completely eliminating wasteful runoff.
6.3. Pollution-Free Sources
By shifting almost entirely to these pollution-free sources of energy and strict water management techniques, they prove that a large-scale community can absolutely thrive without draining the earth’s finite resources.
The Power of Millions of Volunteers
None of this incredible work would be possible without the true heartbeat of the organization: Saint Dr. MSG and the volunteers. There are millions of volunteers doing welfare works day and night, relentlessly trying to make a tangible change in the world. They aren’t looking for fame, accolades, or money; they are driven by a deep-seated spiritual belief that serving humanity means actively protecting the planet that humanity lives on. Their collective power shows that when people come together with a unified, selfless purpose, the impact is absolutely world-changing.
Conclusion
World Nature Conservation Day is a stark reminder that the earth does not belong to us; we belong to the earth. The sustainable society built by Dera Sacha Sauda stands as a brilliant, highly effective blueprint for how human beings can coexist peacefully with nature. From innovative organic farming and record-breaking afforestation to massive cleanliness drives and renewable energy, their actions speak much louder than words. As we mark this important day, let’s pledge to pick up that piece of trash on the sidewalk, plant that tree in our backyard, and make those small daily choices that protect our beautiful world.

THE INSPIRING STORY BEHIND DERA SACHA SAUDA’S HOMELY SHELTER (ASHIYANA) CAMPAIGN
We all look forward to the rainy season, don’t we?
The cool breeze, the soothing sound of raindrops, a plate of hot fritters, and peaceful walks in the rain make monsoons feel magical. After enjoying the weather, we return to the comfort of our homes, dry ourselves, and relax.
But what if there was no safe home to return to?
For countless families, the rainy season brings fear instead of joy. Leaking roofs, collapsing walls, flooded rooms, and damaged belongings force them to leave the only shelter they have. While many celebrate the monsoon, others spend sleepless nights searching for a safe place to protect their loved ones.
A DAUGHTER’S WISH, A FATHER’S PROMISE
One such story is that of Jaspreet Kaur from Majra Kalan, Sangrur, Punjab. Losing her father at a young age left her family struggling to make ends meet. Today, she lives with her mother and grandmother in a fragile house that barely withstands the monsoon. Every spell of heavy rain brought the same fear—a leaking roof, weakening walls, and the possibility of losing the only place they could call home. On the worst days, they had no option but to wait outside in the rain or seek refuge at a neighbour’s house.
For Jaspreet, however, Saint Dr. MSG has always been more than a spiritual guide—He has been the father she always looked up to. During a Ru-Ba-Ru Night, where followers openly share their joys and struggles with Him like members of one family, she gathered the courage to narrate her family’s plight.
She had barely finished speaking when Saint Dr. MSG compassionately assured her that the family would soon have a home of their own. Turning to the volunteers, “We will build this house through our honest earnings”, He added, “Let the block in-charges take note and ensure that her home is completed without delay.” It wasn’t merely an assurance; it was a promise that immediately set hope into motion.
The very next day, that promise had already begun taking shape. When Jaspreet returned, construction was underway.
Within just 48 hours, the crumbling structure that had once symbolised fear had been replaced with a safe, dignified home—transforming years of uncertainty into a future filled with security, hope, and belonging.
Jaspreet’s story is not an isolated act of kindness—it is one of thousands of lives transformed through Homely Shelter (Ashiyana), a humanitarian initiative launched by Saint Dr. MSG and carried forward by the dedicated volunteers of Dera Sacha Sauda.
WHAT IS HOMELY SHELTER (ASHIYANA)?
A home is more than four walls and a roof. It is security, dignity, hope, and the foundation for a better future. Recognising that food, clothing, and shelter are among the most basic human needs, Saint Dr. MSG initiated the Homely Shelter (Ashiyana) campaign to ensure that no deserving family is left without a safe place to call home.
Since 2010–11, the campaign has transformed lives across several Indian states, including Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, Rajasthan, and Bihar. Within just two years, volunteers constructed and handed over more than 1,900 homes to families in need, creating not only houses but also restoring confidence, security, and self-respect.
HOMELY SHELTER: FACTS THAT INSPIRE
What makes the Homely Shelter campaign truly remarkable is not just the number of homes built, but the spirit behind every brick.
Rapid construction: Thanks to the extraordinary coordination of volunteers, most houses are completed within one to two days, with some projects finished in as little as 13 hours.
Supporting the most vulnerable: The initiative primarily serves widows, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and families living in extreme poverty, helping them rebuild their lives with dignity.
Powered entirely by compassion: Dera Sacha Sauda volunteers maintain the campaign very efficiently. Saint Dr MSG provides every required support to the volunteers and volunteers contribute through their honest earnings, donate construction materials, and offer shramdaan (voluntary physical labour). In some cases, even the land for the house is arranged for families who have nowhere to build a home.
Every completed house represents far more than bricks and cement—it symbolises hope replacing despair, dignity overcoming hardship, and humanity coming together to ensure that no family is left without a roof over its head.
Powered not only by love towards humanity but also built on compassion, selfless service, and the collective determination to give every family the dignity of a home.
FINALLY RAIN WILL BRING PEACE INSTEAD OF FEAR
The next time dark clouds gather and the first raindrops touch the earth, many of us will enjoy the beauty of the monsoon from the comfort of our homes. But for thousands of families, that comfort was once only a distant dream.
Through the Homely Shelter (Ashiyana) campaign, Saint Dr. MSG and the volunteers of Dera Sacha Sauda have done far more than construct houses. They have rebuilt hope, restored dignity, and given countless families the priceless feeling of safety.
Because sometimes, the greatest act of humanity is not giving someone a roof—it is giving them a place where they no longer fear the rain.
…
“The true beauty of the monsoon isn’t in watching the rain fell – it’s knowing that every family has a roof beneath which they can watch it together.”
At 2 a.m., a mother sat awake outside her son’s room. Not because he was studying, but because she feared he might not survive another night of substance abuse. The house had stopped hearing laughter long ago. What remained were arguments, debts, and helpless tears. Yet, years later, the same young man would become a source of pride for his family and an inspiration for others struggling with addiction.
Such transformations are at the heart of the DEPTH Campaign initiated by Dera Sacha Sauda.

Why DEPTH Campaign: A Silent Epidemic Rooted Among Millions
Drug abuse has emerged as one of the most pressing public health and social challenges of the 21st century. What often begins as experimentation, curiosity, or an escape from stress can gradually evolve into a destructive cycle that affects every aspect of an individual’s life. According to global estimates,
Nearly 16 crore Indians consume alcohol, making it the most widely used psychoactive substance in the country.
More than 3 crore people use cannabis, including marijuana and bhang.
Around 2.3 crore Indians use opioids, among the most addictive categories of drugs.
Millions struggling with substance dependence require treatment, yet only a small percentage receive professional support.
Illicit drug trafficking continues to increase the availability of narcotic substances, putting countless lives—especially young lives—at risk.
Beyond the numbers lies a far more painful reality—broken families, abandoned aspirations, declining mental and physical health, and communities struggling with the consequences of addiction.
In India, the problem continues to affect people across age groups, socioeconomic backgrounds, and geographical regions, making it a concern that demands collective action.
Addressing this crisis requires more than treatment alone—it requires a movement that tackles the root causes of addiction and empowers individuals to lead healthier, purpose-driven lives. It is this urgent need that gave rise to the DEPTH campaign.
What is DEPTH? A Vision Beyond the Present, A Mission Beyond De-addiction
Recognizing the growing threat posed by substance abuse, the Drug Eradication Pan India Through Health And Meditation (DEPTH) campaign was launched on 30 July 2023 by Saint Dr Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji insan, leading the organization of Dera Sacha Sauda.
Conceived as a nationwide movement against drug addiction, DEPTH Campaign was established with the belief that addiction is not merely a physical dependence on harmful substances but a deeper crisis affecting the mind, emotions, relationships, and overall well-being of an individual. Rather than limiting its efforts to rehabilitation alone, the campaign seeks to create lasting change through prevention, education, awareness, and personal transformation.
Why Did DEPTH Stand Out When Thousands of Anti-Drug Campaigns Already Existed?
In a world where countless anti-drug campaigns focus primarily on awareness slogans, warnings, and rehabilitation programs, DEPTH Campaign chose a different path.
It recognized that addiction is often not the root problem but a symptom of deeper emotional, psychological, social, and spiritual struggles.
Instead of merely telling people to stay away from drugs, DEPTH Campaign seeks to fill the void that addiction often leaves behind—with purpose, belonging, inner peace, and hope.
Role of Meditation in De-addiction
DEPTH Campaign addresses this challenge of emotional crisis through meditation and spiritual practices that help individuals develop inner strength and emotional balance. Saint Dr MSG teaches how meditation helps build the will power that is required to give up addictios like drugs.
This shift from external dependency to internal resilience plays a crucial role in supporting long-term recovery and preventing relapse.
A Modern Approach to De-addiction Through Music
Unlike traditional awareness campaigns, DEPTH Campaign uses music as a powerful tool for transformation.
There are 2 very Meaningful
“Aashirvaad Maaon Ke”
“Desh Ki Jawani”
that connect emotionally with listeners, highlighting the pain addiction causes to families and the responsibility of youth towards society.
Instead of merely warning against drugs, these songs inspire self-respect, patriotism, and positive life choices, making awareness more impactful and memorable.
Encouraging Village Heads for Root-Level Elimination
Saint Dr. MSG believes that drug eradication begins at the grassroots level. The campaign encourages village heads and respected community members to actively monitor and curb the supply of drugs in their localities. By involving local leadership, DEPTH Campaign transforms the fight against addiction into a collective mission. This community-driven approach helps protect the youth and strengthens the foundation for a healthier and more progressive nation.
Community Support Through the SAFE Initiative
DEPTH understands that quitting drugs is only the first step; the real challenge begins during recovery – withdrawal symptoms such as weakness, fatigue, irritability, cravings, and nutritional deficiencies are common.
To support them during this critical phase, the campaign introduced the SAFE Initiative, which provides specially designed SAFE Kits containing protein-rich and nutrient-rich food items, vitamins, electrolytes, and other essentials that help restore physical strength and overall well-being.

Shah Satnam Ji Dham, Sirsa offers counselling, meditation guidance, and support for individuals committed to overcoming addiction
Medical support is also available through Shah Satnam Ji Super Speciality Hospital, where individuals can receive healthcare assistance
Purposeful Living Through Sewa and Humanity Welfare Activities: from helping ourselves to helping others
A recurring challenge in addiction recovery is the search for meaning and fulfillment after leaving harmful habits behind. DEPTH addresses this need by encouraging participation in selfless service (sewa) and humanity welfare activities. Individuals experience the satisfaction that comes from making a positive difference in the lives of others. Such activities foster a sense of belonging, responsibility, and self-worth. Gradually, the temporary pleasure once sought through substances is replaced by the lasting fulfillment derived from meaningful action and social contribution.
Real life stories impacted by the DEPTH campaign
There are 100 and 1000s of real life impacts of DEPTH CAMPAIGN which can be cited around the world.
Here are the most notable ones:
The man taking 80 injections a day
One of the most frequently cited cases is a person addicted to Buprenorphine (a morphine-like opioid) who reportedly required around 80 injections daily. After joining Dera Sacha Sauda’s de-addiction programme and adopting the methods taught by Saint Dr MSG, he later shared his experience of overcoming the addiction and returning to a normal life.
Alcohol addiction in an ex-army family
“My father, a former army man, struggled with alcohol addiction for years”, a Dera Sacha Sauda volunteer, Ritu Insan says, “it was with the grace of Saint Dr MSG and the Depth campaign that my father was able to quit drinking and improve family life.”
People using 70–90 injections per day
Another story that appears repeatedly in the society is that of individuals using 70–90 opioid injections daily especially in North Indian region of Punjab-Haryana. After undergoing de-addiction and rehabilitation through meditation, social support, and community involvement, they have not only given given up this menace, but also rebuilt their lives & brought it back to track.

Every life reclaimed from substance abuse is more than a personal victory—it is a family restored, a future rebuilt, and a society strengthened.
Today’s generation is focused on setting up financial goals and achieving them. For this, they are working day and night, setting up their startups along with working 9-5. But one thing is getting backseat among all this for most of them, if not all, and that is physical activity. Lifestyle associated diseases are on the rise including PMOS, uncontrolled diabetes, etc. This is why the day dedicated to YOGA is so much important especially in today’s time. So, let’s talk about what major things are happening related to this day and take some motivation to inculcate yoga in our routine lives.
Wonderful technique to do Yoga
Yoga with meditation do wonders in terms of health benefits, living stress-free life, overcoming addictions, etc. Saint Dr MSG has demonstrated the technique step by step as:
First of all, sit straight and fix your focus at the space between the eyebrows
Inhale full via nose and keep chanting ‘the method of meditation’
Then hold your breath, then exhale till all air is out of your lungs
Hold without breathing in for brief time and then repeat the process.
Saint MSG encourages people from all age groups to do Yoga
From school going children to bedridden elderly, with the encouragement of Saint Dr MSG and patient teaching by His Holiness, every age group has been able to not only learn and practice yoga but many of them have represented India at international level and won hundreds of medals.
Awards won by Dera Sacha Sauda
Award of Honour on 29th April, 2016: Major yoga regulatory boards including International Yoga Federation, the Yoga Federation of India, the Asia Yoga Federation, and the International Yoga Sports Federation presented Award of Honour to Saint Dr Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan for his contributions to promote Yoga among millions of people.
Nomination for Dronacharya Award on 28th may, 2017: The Yoga Federation of India nominated Saint MSG for coaching and producing world-class yogis and international medalists (such as World Cup and Asian Cup winners) from the Dera’s Shah Satnam Ji Educational Institutions.
World champion for 8 times: One time world champion is celebrated with so much fervour as it’s such a big achievement. Then think about students who became 8 times champion! Yes we are talking about students of Shah Satnam Ji Educational Institutes.
Not only this, these students have brought the title of Asia Yoga Championship 5 times
Overall, more than 107 medals at international level have been won by the students of these institutes with the guidance of Saint MSG
Every year, millions of devotees participate globally on the occasion of International Day of Yoga to spread the message of staying fit and healthy at every age of life.
60 minutes a day keeps illness away
Saint MSG has encouraged millions of people across the globe to inculcate yoga in their daily routine for one hour. It has helped a lot of people to beat illness and stay away from addictions
From bedridden to 550 medals: Yoga miracle
There is one real story which can inspire anyone! The story of Ilam Chand Insan.
He started yoga with the inspiration of Saint MSG in 2000 when he met His Holiness in spiritual congregation. At that time, his health was deteriorating and was bedridden and was brought on cot by relatives. With the new found motivation, he started yoga and now at age of 94 years old, he has won more than 550 medals at national and international levels. He is fit and healthy and gives entire credit to His Holiness Saint Dr Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan.
If students from one group of institutes can bring so many international level medals and if someone at the age of 94 years can single handedly bring 550 medals, what’s stopping us to do yoga to stay healthy? There is no doubt about the fact that if health is not good, nothing else will make sense.
Modern life diseases has ancient cure
Let’s pledge to start yoga on this international day of yoga 2026 and make a healthy home, a healthy city, a healthy state and a healthy Nation! One by one, we all can achieve this.
