The real meaning of festivals is sharing happiness
Festivals are one of the identity marks of India. It is the beauty of Indian culture that we have so many festivals to enjoy and a reason to be happy almost every month. Festivals are an opportunity to get rid of the stress of day to day problems for some time. Every Festival has a lesson that does not let us astray from the path of truth and goodness.
Diwali is a festival when the whole country transcends into a beautiful realm of myriad lamps.
It’s a day on which the Earth as well as the Skies get illuminated. This Festival of Lights has all the delight and magnificence that can even lighten up our minds and hearts. The festival brings happiness to abound in this world. If celebrated in a good way, the festival has all power to promote harmony, peace, and brotherhood. It is a festival that people from every religion in India can celebrate and it enlightens every heart.

The idea of Eco-Friendly Diwali must be promoted.
Every year, people burn crackers and there is a lot of sounds and air pollution. Some minutes of enjoyment can harm innocent animals for a lifetime. These animals get scared, some birds get disturbed with their paths, the smoke chokes them, and many more. What is the meaning of such a celebration that can cause harm to others? More to this, our Environment gets dirty and polluted. It takes many days after Diwali for the sky to be clearly visible. There are many cases of road accidents because of the smoke-filled air.
This year, let us decide not to follow the usual. Let us plant a tree and try to compensate for the harm we have done to the environment.
A tree can facilitate humanity for many years. Let us plant a tree of hope to save the environment this Diwali.
The celebrations are incomplete without welfare
Everyone wants to celebrate festivals with their loved ones. Most people decide to do shopping, decorations, exchange gifts and sweets, organize grand parties, etc. on Diwali. But still, many people can’t afford the luxuries of such celebrations. There are children below the poverty line who just dream of sweets and gifts.
Let us decide to lend a helping hand for such children and people on this Diwali. We can distribute sweets and gifts to them. Providing them with basic needs like food, books, etc. can also be another way.
Various NGOs celebrate Diwali by Welfare. Dera Sacha Sauda volunteers distribute rations, lamps, sweets, etc. to those who need basic facilities. These volunteers celebrate their festivals with them. This is the best way of celebration as it can bring a smile to the one who struggles day and night for survival. Let us try to illuminate the houses of those who can’t afford those lights. Such celebration gives one the real joy and peace that we usually search for.
Because cleanliness is always next to godliness.
People usually clean their homes and offices during Diwali days. It is believed that we can remove our vices by removing the dirt out. Most of the parasites, flies, etc are removed from the living areas and hygiene is promoted. Thus there are fewer chances of getting infections and diseases.
But there are people who not only believe in their houses and offices but also society. Dera Sacha Sauda volunteers run cleanliness campaigns at their block, district, state, and national level in every way possible. They aim to make the country Clean INDIA. Such campaigns by volunteers are the scenes that can leave one astonished. These people clean roads, bus and railway stations, public buildings, and even toilets and sewerage. Salutes to the courage they have that inspires them to work sp selflessly for humanity.
Let us Be Indians by buying Indian
From the last decades, foreign lamps and decorative items are very popular in Indian Markets.
In the glamour of foreign lamps, we Indians got so engrossed that we forgot what Deepawali actually means. Deepawali means the “deepon ki maala” that is a row of diyas {earthern lamps}.
Deewali is the festival in the whole year when the potters can earn the most. We must support the locals and contribute to our economy. This is much needed after this whole pandemic situation.
Moreover, when we lit a clay lamp, it kills the bacteria and harmful microbes around. Clay lamps can thus protect us from a lot of diseases. In ancient times the clay lamps were lit with ghee, mustard oil, olive oil. When these oils are burned in clay lamps, it purifies the environment. Hence it is also a symbol of goodness.
Let us kill the demon of negativity from within.
A lot of historical and religious incidents are attached to this festival. the nutshell of every story is about the triumph of Goodness over evil. In the modern era, the meaning of festivals has taken a new shape. People have forgotten the reason to celebrate and thus celebrate these holy festivals to fulfill theirs on wishes. It is seen that many people drink alcohol and gamble on this day. Diwali is a pious festival with a great religious significance. Indulging in vulgar activities pretending to celebrate the festival is a sin.
this Diwali, let us decide to kill the demon inside us. Let us decide to remove our bad habits from our lives. Let us do the actual cleanliness of our souls. This is what all religions aim – cleansing of the soul. Let us make the gods we worship pleased by following the true path of goodness and humanity.
The one who makes all festivals meaningful
Dera Sacha Sauda is a family of millions and Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan is head of this family. His Holiness has taught the true way of celebration by serving humanity. Guruji teaches that festivals are a way to share happiness with everyone by serving selflessly. Let us all follow his preachings and make Diwali this year a different and memorable one.
