World Food Day 2022: A unique initiative of Fasting to feed the hungry

In the hierarchy of basic things needed for our survival, food comes at first along with air, water etc. Without food, we wouldn’t be able to survive for long. It is not necessary only for survival but for our physical and mental growth as well. We might have progressed in our technology and science, but there are so many people who are left behind, people who have no use of this development or technology because they don’t even have access to the basic meal of two times. There are millions of people around the globe who are starving every day. Listening to the plight of the hungry and spreading awareness regarding the increasing food insecurity & malnutrition, World Food Day is celebrated globally every year on 16th of October.

Theme of the day:

The World Food Day was initiated by Food and Agriculture Organisation of United Nations in 1945. Every year a theme is fixed for the World Food Day and the celebration is made by focusing on that theme. This year the theme will be ‘Leave NO ONE Behind’.
That is the focus will be that no one have to suffer to get access to food. Not only food but that everyone gets the nutritious food and to solve the problems and issues prevailing in achieving this aim.

Volunteers who keep themselves hungry to feed the destitute:

We all can make difference at our own level towards removing the hunger and ending the starvation. There are also many organisations working on this part. Let’s talk about a non-governmental socio-spiritual organisation whose disciples and volunteers are making continuous efforts to tackle the problem of hunger.

FOOD BANK’

The ‘Food Bank’ is one of the many unique initiatives being run by this organisation. Under which volunteers of this organisation observe a fast once in a week or fortnight and donate the food of that day or the money that would have been spent on the food among the people who are starving. They have opened different food banks in different villages, cities & states and thus making a chain of food banks, whereby volunteers deposit food which is later on distributed among needy ones. These volunteers distribute food not only for a day or two but they distribute food or ration kits containing different pulses, spices, oil & other edible things that last for weeks and months. The food kits are distributed to sick, elderly and those families who are in genuine need due to their poverty. Keeping a fast is also beneficial for our health, it boosts the immunity and metabolism, saves us from many diseases. Thus, this is how the lakhs of volunteers keep themselves hungry to feed others.

But who are these volunteers, what organisation do they belong to and who inspired them to do such altruistic deeds?

Well, these True Food Heroes belong to the socio spiritual organisation – Dera Sacha Sauda that has been working for the welfare of mankind since 1948. The organisation is running 148 humanitarian works that are aimed to make this world a better place for everyone. These volunteers have found this unique way of celebrating their special occasions, from small to big ones by conducting these welfare works. They distribute food & fruit kits among needy ones on their birthdays, anniversaries etc. and hence share their happiness with others.
And the credit of inspiring, guiding, teaching and motivating these volunteers to help others without any selfish motive goes to the true spiritual master of Dera Sacha Sauda –Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan aka Saint Dr. MSG. With HIS guidance, these volunteers have fed the hungry and ended the crisis of food insecurity and starvation of so many families till date and are doing so continuously. All they get in return is the inner satisfaction, peace and the blessings of Almighty.
Saint Dr. MSG inspires people to never waste food and gives the message “Let no one sleep with empty stomach”. Thus, walking on the guidance of His Holiness, millions are helping towards ending the starvation.

We salute these Food Heroes for their efforts to combat the problem of increasing starvation. Let us also pledge to never waste food and feed those who are struggling from hunger and starvation around us!

International Day of Rural Women 2022

International day of rural women is celebrated every year to recognize the critical role and contribution of rural women in enhancing the sustainability of rural households and communities, improving rural livelihoods and overall well-being. They perform the bulk of unpaid care and domestic work within families and households in rural areas. They make significant contributions to many fields such as agricultural production, food security and nutrition, also land and natural resource management, and building climate resilience.

Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan has started many initiatives to raise women’s status in society. He has started a number of welfare works that empowers women to be independent and help them build a better environment to live in.
The volunteers of Dera Sacha Sauda are making immense efforts to raise the status of rural women in society walking on the guided path of Saint MSG

For this, Dera Sacha Sauda is focusing on spreading awareness about women empowerment, especially towards the topics of female foeticide, dowry, rape, exploitation of women at work, and many more.

Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan has also started a number of welfare works that empower women in rural areas and improve rural livelihoods and overall well-being.

Some of these welfare activities are listed below:

Prevent Female Foeticide – Female foeticide is still practiced majorly in rural areas where the birth of a girl child is considered a curse and hence female foeticide is practiced. Disciples of Saint Dr. MSG have pledged to not kill unborn daughters and are spreading awareness to prevent the termination of the girl child.
Guruji has even set up a ‘Shahi Betiyan Basera’ wherein those girls who were supposed to be killed by their parents have been rescued. Guruji has given them His own name as Father and provided them with a good education that empowered them to achieve great milestones in the fields of sports, education, and different other fields.

Prevent Child Marriage – It is evident that Dera educates the people against child marriage, and as a consequence, millions have vowed to wed their kids after the legal marriageable age.

Promoting Girls’ Education – Encouraging girls’ education by raising awareness and providing support at a number of institutions of higher learning founded by Dera, such as Shah Satnam Ji Girls Schools and Colleges in Haryana, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh.

Educating Self-Defense – Providing females with self-defense at training facilities to protect themselves if caught up in any unsecured situation.

Self-esteem – Establishing vocational facilities, such as sewing studios, weaving looms, and tasks that can be done easily by women in rural areas as a source of employment that will boost their self-esteem. Sewing Machines are also distributed by Dera Sacha Sauda for underprivileged women.

Endorsing Dowry-Free Marriages – It’s usually seen, especially in rural areas where girls and their families are forced to give dowry during the marriage. Revered Guru Ji encouraged dowry-free marriage that helped underprivileged girls to get married.
Guruji and his disciples even provide monetary help to financially poor families during their girl’s marriage.

Respect Motherhood – Under this humanity work, Dera Sacha Sauda provides pregnant ladies from low-income families with wholesome meals and medical care. Not only this, they even nurture the newborn children and take care of the pregnant women till both the mother and the child are well.

The list is never-ending as Guruji has started welfare works throughout the whole life journey from a girl’s birth to her old age. We are grateful to Spiritual Master Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan for giving rural society the much-needed makeover and for serving as an example to countless others.

Karva Chauth- Know how to keep fast in the most effective way

October is a month full of big festivals such as Dussehra, Diwali. Karva Chauth is one of these festivals, it is a one day traditional Hindu festival celebrated by Indian married women with great zeal and enthusiasm for the good health, safety and longevity of their husbands, especially in the Northern part of India. On this day women observe fast from sunrise till the moonrise and not even consume a drop of water. This year it will be celebrated on 13th of October.

But there are also many people who observe this fast for the creator of this universe that is God or almighty. They pray for the love of the almighty for themselves and for the whole world. Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan aka Saint Dr. MSG inspires millions to shun the superstitions related to the festivals and to understand their importance from spiritual and scientific aspect.

His holiness preaches the righteous way to observe Karva Chauth

Saint Dr. MSG says that fasting has its own advantages for our physical health; one should definitely fast for once in a week or atleast once in every fifteen days. It strengthens our immunity and protects us from various diseases. It is also scientifically proven that fasting speeds up metabolism and promotes longevity.
Apart from this, Saint Dr. MSG says that one should stop believing in superstitions and fast for the creator of this world – Almighty. On this festival, women eat in early morning before the sunrise which is called as Sargi given by their mother-in-laws and do not consume food or even a drop of water throughout the day and eat only after they watch the moon at night after drinking water with their husband’s hands. Instead of that Saint Dr. MSG asks people to observe the fast by having lukewarm water throughout the whole day and by having very light meal at the start or end of the day. HE inspires that one should meditate God’s name throughout the day while fasting.
Thou also break all the gender stereotypes and asks that if women can keep fast for their husbands, then why can’t men observe fast for their wives? Thus, HE says that men should also keep fast for their wives that will also keep them healthy and fit. Thou motivates that women should be treated equal to men and both men and women should respect each other. Hence, the best way to celebrate the festival of Karva Chauth according to His Holiness is by observing the fast for GOD and by having only lukewarm water throughout the day. Under HIS guidance, millions observe fast in this way and distribute the food of that day or the money among the needy people who are starving. In this way, you will not only keep yourself physically healthy but will also get blessings of the Almighty for feeding his starving children.

World Sight Day- Appreciating the Efforts of a Revolutionary who illuminated Millions of Lives

Without vision, it’s impossible to experience this beautiful world. Many end up becoming dependent on others for almost everything due to blindness or vision problems. Therefore, eye care is of utmost importance from the very beginning. Those with uninvited eye problems have no choice, but to suffer from the difficulties until their eyes get treated. However, whose eyes are healthy can prevent themselves from falling prey to eye sight related diseases by taking their eyes’ care. Regular eye checkups play a key role in keeping up to date about eyes’ health so that something terrible can be prevented from happening to precious eyes. Many charities and non-profit organizations such as World Health Organization (WHO) promote eye health too. To draw attention of whole world on blindness and vision impairment, World Sight Day was initiated by Lions Club International Foundation’s SightFirst Campaign in 2000. It’s observed on the second Thursday of every October.

Live after Death with Posthumous Eyes Donation

Vision Impairment is a serious illness. For many, it was untreatable until eye donation started. Eyes Donation is one of the best welfare works that can be done even after death. One pair of donated eyes can give vision to up to five people. That’s how big impact eye donation has! After death, eyes either get burned with the body or get buried after funeral. The burned or buried eyes are not useful for anyone, even for the dead. If eyes are going to end in soil after death anyway then why can’t these be donated to those who need them to uproot darkness from their lives? Such a priceless gift should not be going to waste when there are many who need it. Many have heard of living after death, but not a lot of people know that becoming famous is not the only way to live after death. Doing charitable works like eyes donation after death can also make people remember the donor even after their death. Another person is able to see the world with the donated eyes and his/her soul gives blessings to the donor automatically.

International Eye Bank in Dera Sacha Sauda, Sirsa

The banks like Food Banks and Cloth Banks are not that rare, but a bank like an Eye Bank is very rare considering not many people donate eyes posthumously, especially in rural areas. In the Sirsa City of Indian State Haryana, Revered Saint, Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan opened an International Eye Bank called, “Poojaneeya Mata Kartar Kaur Ji International Eye Bank” for the purpose of illuminating dark lives. This bank ranks third in India. It’s in Shah Satnam Ji Specility Hospital, Sirsa, Haryana. The Dera Sacha Sauda volunteers, who are inspired by Guru Ji to donate eyes posthumously, donate their eyes after death. In Shah Satnam Ji Speciality Hospital, financially weak patients’ eye checkups, eye surgeries etc. are done free of cost. A free mega eye checkup camp from December 12 to December 15 is also organized by Dera Sacha Sauda every year.

Revered Saint, Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan – The Revolutionary who Inspires millions to do Posthumous Eyes Donation

There were many superstitions about posthumous eye donation. People used to think that if they donate their eyes posthumously, they will be born blind in their next life.

Revered Saint, Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan freed them from their superstitions by introducing them with facts and by educating them. Guru Ji encouraged them and they filled pledge forms on Guru Ji’s single call to do posthumous eyes donation. Millions of people came forward to do this welfare task that enlightened and is enlightening many lives. It’s impossible to inspire so many people to do such great donation, but Revered Saint, Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan motivated millions of people to do so easily. Following Guru Ji’s guidance, the Dera Sacha Sauda volunteers living in every corner of the world donate their eyes after their death. This is a revolution for humanity’s welfare that Revered Saint, Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan began just like all other humanitarian works. Due to posthumous eye donations done by Dera Sacha Sauda volunteers and the highest number of written pledges for eyes donation done by them, Dera Sacha Sauda has made world records as well.

Conclusion

Posthumous eye donation is the best ever gift that can be given to the blind or people with low vision. It equals to saving lives, so it can’t be compared with any money or luxury. We appreciate Revered Saint, Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan for initiating great campaign like Posthumous Eyes Donation. The Dera Sacha Sauda volunteers have illuminated many lives thanks to Guru Ji’s guidance. This World Sight Day, let’s pledge to donate eyes posthumously and illuminate lives, and spread awareness regarding importance of eyes donation among people. Our one step could change someone’s life forever.

Your smile in tough situations makes you strong from inside and gives strength to fight even tougher situations.A smiley face does not know any political, geographical or religious things.
Instead of smiling today,we should smile everyday.
This will not only ease your problems but your loved ones will also be happy with you.

Benefits of smiling

Smiling makes us beautiful.
Smiling is the best reaction in all situations.
Smiling is the best exercise, the best medicine and good for health.
Smiling can trick your Brain into happiness and boost immunity.

A smile spurs a powerful chemical reaction in the Brain that can make you happier.
Even forcing a fake smile can legitimately reduce stress and lower your heart beat.
Science has shown that the mere act of smiling can lift your mood ,lower stress, boost immune system and possibly even prolong your life.

Dr Murrey Grossan in Los Angeles, points to the science of study of how the brain is connected to the immune system, asserting that it has been shown that depression weakens your immune system while happiness on the other hand boosts our body’s resistance.

My personal experience says that when you are stressed, try intentionally putting a smile on your face. It may help improve your mood and ability to manage the stress.
According to me smiling is not only to keep oneself happy but to spread happiness in other’s life also.

Parmarthi Diwas: Tribute to Revered Bapu Maghar Singh Ji

A father is a guiding light whose love shows the path of our life. He is the epitome of care, love, and strength which are unconditional. And the father who gave birth to the saviour of humanity and dedicated His love for him to His Guru is undoubtedly a miracle in itself. Our whole society owes everything to this great personality who sacrificed the love of his child to humanity. We are talking about none other than Pujya Bapu Sri Maghar Singh Ji, the father of Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan whose sacrifice has provided us with the Messiah of humanity. Every year, the 5th of October is celebrated as Parmarthi Diwas by Dera Sacha Sauda to honour Pujya Bapu Ji by dedicating his death anniversary to the welfare.

Table of contents:

The life history of Pujya Bapu Ji.
The reflection of fatherhood.
Why is Pujya Bapu Ji considered the great personality?
What was the sacrifice made by Pujya Bapu Ji?
Tribute to this great soul: welfare by DSS.

THE LIFE HISTORY OF BAPU JI:

Sardar Maghar Singh Ji was born in Rajasthan, more specifically, Shri Gurusarmodia of Shri Ganganagar in 1929. He was born in the great family of Sri Chita Singh Ji and Sant Kaur Ji. Later, he was adopted by his elder uncle, Sri Santa Singh Ji and Chand Kaur Ji. He lived his life as a landlord and was Numberdaar of the village.

THE REFLECTION OF FATHERHOOD

The present spiritual master of Dera Sacha Sauda, Saint Dr. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan is the son of the revered Bapu Ji and the honourable Mata Naseeb Kaur Ji. He was born to this couple after 18 years of their marriage.
This family lacked nothing in terms of any essentials or luxuries. Saint Dr. MSG was raised by Pujya Bapu Ji with love and care. This father-son bond was extremely unmatchable and precious. As we all know, Saint Dr. MSG reflected the amazing supernatural capabilities from the very beginning of His childhood. Pujya Bapu Ji’s belief in prophecy got stronger due to that which stated that his extraordinarily blessed son will remain with him only for 23 years and after that, he will go after the true reason of his birth.

WHY IS PUJYA BAPU JI CONSIDERED AS THE GREAT PERSONALITY?

He owned a generous personality along with simple living and high thinking. He never discriminated against the rich and the poor and served the needy with essentials. He showed a great reflection of humanity in his personality by providing economic assistance to underprivileged people.
There’s an incident where the revered Bapu Ji was served with humanity by a man. To compensate him for this great deed of kindness by him, Pujya Bapu Ji provided him with rations, clothes, and all the requisites till the day he lived.

WHAT WAS THE SACRIFICE MADE BY PUJYA BAPU JI?

Even after all the love he had for his son, he did not even think twice about sacrificing him on his GuruJi’s (Shah Satnam Ji Maharaj- the second spiritual master) single call. On 23rd September 1990, Shah Satnam Singh Ji Maharaj asked Pujya Bapu Ji and Mata Ji to hand over their only son to the spiritual throne of Dera Sacha Sauda. He, without any hesitation, gifted their son for the sake of humanity. Such a type of sacrifice is what made Pujya Bapu Ji’s personality even more respectable and honourable.

TRIBUTE TO THIS GREAT SOUL: WELFARE by Dera Sacha Sauda

Pujya Bapu Ji lived a very noble and selfless life. His whole life was dedicated to the welfare of people and he even sacrificed his only son to humanity. Keeping this in mind, the devotees of Dera Sacha Sauda carry out various welfare works every year on 5th October. Various welfare works like blood donation camps, distribution of rations, food, and stationary to the needy, and many more like tree plantation.
Widely, blood donation camps are organised by volunteers all over the world. There are many world records in the name of Dera Sacha Sauda for a large amount of blood donation.

Blood Donation Camp at Shah Satnam Ji Multi-speciality Hospital, Sirsa, is also being organised from 9 a.m. on 5th October, 2022. Dera Sacha Sauda also owns a blood bank which is 24×7 available for the patients who are in need of blood. This blood bank is run by volunteers who selflessly donate blood to needy without caring about their caste, creed, colour or religion.

This unique way of paying a tribute is taught by the revered chief of Dera Sacha Sauda- Saint Dr. MSG. We salute this Messiah of Humanity and His great Father- Pujya Bapu Ji for their great contribution to the welfare of society!
